Login Types

In this post, the number of ways available for a user to log in to the application is explained. But before talking about that, let’s talk a little bit about what happens when the application is started. As soon as the application is started the user is greeted by a splash screen which displays the animation of the company’s  logo for about four seconds.

 

 

When the application starts for the first time on a device, the splash screen is followed by the welcome slider which displays the different features of the application in the form of slides.

From the second time onwards, the splash screen is followed by user type page. So, that brings us back to the original topic, log types.In the app, there are totally three types of users namely Guest, Customer, and Vendor. Let’s discuss them one by one now.

GUEST:

This login is used when the user is a one time shopper and doesn’t frequent the application much. If you are a regular user, please consider signing up rather than using this login as there are a lot of downsides while using it.I have listed a few of them below

  • As a Guest, session time is restricted only for 15 minutes after which time the user is logged out of the application.
  • As a Guest, the user’s My Favourites articles are stored only for a particular session which lasts only for 15 minutes.(more on my favorites later)

CUSTOMER:

This login is for users who are into furniture shopping and keep visiting the app to buy new products. Creation of the account is really simple. Go to the signup page by clicking on the signup button and fill up the form which asks for details like name, address, email, mobile number, password. Afer filling the details hit ‘create account’ button, this will complete the registration process.After that, the user is redirected to the user type page.

The customer enjoys unrestricted privileges, unlike the guest user. Once the customer logs in, he is taken to his home page which consists of two tabs, Illustration, and Overview. In the overview tab, all the latest articles added by different vendors will be displayed. On the top right corner of the homepage, there is a bell icon which displays all the notifications a customer gets.

I will talk about the catalog, augment, at length in my future posts. Vendors section will be discussed in the same post when talking about the vendors. The rest of them I will cover now.

My Account:

All the user details like name, address email and number are displayed on this page. If any details are to be updated, edit profile button should be clicked and once the editing is done click the update profile button.

My Notifications:

All the latest notifications received by the user are displayed here.Notifications can be displayed also by clicking on the bell icon as mentioned before.

My Favourites:

If you like any article just tap the favorite icon.All your favorite articles will be saved in the My Favourites page.The idea is the user can browse through our catalog, if he likes any article adds them to the favorites and finally when he is done with the browsing part, go to the My Favourites page and check the articles he wants to buy.It is our version of a shopping cart.

VENDOR/MANUFACTURER:

If a vendor wants to register with us, he has to login to the application either as a guest or customer then fill up the vendor registration form available on the menu.

He has to provide details like his company name, address, city, state, pin code, person to be contacted, company email, number of models/designs required, mobile number. After entering the details hit the submit button. we will receive your request and then contact you. According to the vendor’s requirements, an appropriate quote will be sent. If once the deal is completed, the vendor will get

  • a mobile application.
  • a web application.
  • a service in case he wants to integrate our product into his own app (PAAS).
  • a pattern download portal.
